Up before school at the crack of dawn
Scooping pig feed in the early morn
Second oldest of five 3 brothers 1 sis
Long list of chores get used to it
Bruises and welts up and down my legs
Mama covered up them handsaw hits
Turned 13 when they finally split
No time to grieve get used to it

I left home at 18 welding grinding steel
Joined the military and that’s when shit got real

(Chorus)
Get used to it
It’s my cross I had to bear
But I made use of it
‘Cause I’m not going anywhere
Had to get up do what I gotta do
Keep on fighting for the red white and blue
I don’t look back got no regrets
No I won’t tolerate disrespect
So get used to it
Yeah get used to it

Went to Germany after AIT
Taking care of men hit by APC’s
Standing up to sergeants screaming in my face
Kicked em where it hurts and put them in their place
Drove an ambulance and a 2 ton truck
Best battalion driver soldier of the month
People were surprised I’m a woman with grit
All I can say is get used to it

(Chorus)
Get used to it
It’s my cross I had to bear
But I made use of it
‘Cause I’m not going anywhere
Had to get up do what I gotta do
Keep on fighting for the red white and blue
I don’t look back got no regrets
No I won’t tolerate disrespect
So get used to it
Get used to it

(Bridge)
I’ve been through hell and back
But I won’t let that get the best of me
Every struggle made me double down on what I wanna be

(Chorus)
Get used to it
It’s my cross I had to bear
But I made use of it
‘Cause I’m not going anywhere
Had to get up do what I gotta do
Keep on fighting for the red white and blue
I don’t look back got no regrets
No I won’t tolerate disrespect
So get used to it
Get used to it
